Wheaton Regional Park – Glenallan Area

Enter the park through the Glenallan Area for hands-on appreciation of Montgomery County’s natural resources. Also, stop by Brookside Nature Center for quality programs for people of all ages, interests, and abilities. The live reptiles, amphibians, and insects display will enchant young naturalists, while self-guided trails take you along interpretive boardwalks and wildlife viewing areas. If you appreciate transportation of the four-legged nature, head over to Wheaton Park Stables where you can enjoy an escorted trail ride, learn a new sport, or enhance your riding skills.

Brookside Gardens

Brookside Gardens is a 50-acre, award-winning horticultural display garden that includes an indoor conservatory complemented by changing displays of new and interesting plants and gardens. Additionally, educational programs for children and adults are offered throughout the seasons.

Brookside Nature Center

Brookside Nature Center provides fun and educational naturalist-led experiences and maintains exhibits interpreting local natural history. The Harper 1870s Cabin, wildlife viewing areas, self-guided trail, wheelchair accessible interpretive boardwalk, and native gardens add to the center’s uniqueness. Programs are available year-round for families and individuals of all ages to learn about a topic or try new skills.

Wheaton Park Stables

Enjoy an escorted trail ride, learn a new sport, or enhance your riding skills at the Wheaton Park Stables. Riding lessons for novice through advanced levels are available in the indoor riding arena or in the outdoor facility. The Stables also offer children’s summer camps, boarding, and guided trail rides through the park’s natural surface bridle paths.
