Watts Branch Stream Valley encompasses nearly 438 acres and protects the Watts Branch, a tributary of the Potomac River. The park is dedicated to environmental preservation and remains undeveloped for active recreation.

M-NCPPC acquired the park in stages. The first 29-acre acquisition was in 1967, and the most recent acquisition occurred in 1996.
