Project Description

This project renovates and replaces the existing playground and swing set in Highland Stone Neighborhood Park, located at 8716 Postoak Road, just north of Herbert Hoover Middle School in Potomac.

Background

The existing playground and swing set will be removed and a new playground and swing set will be installed in their place.  Site improvements will be made to treat stormwater runoff from the playground and to provide an accessible route into the playground, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Additional benches will also be provided adjacent to the playground.  Neighborhood Park Playgrounds are typically less than 5,000 square feet in size and include playground equipment to meet the needs of children ages 2 to 12.  Typical types of equipment include swings, small play structures with slides and freestanding pieces of equipment such as spring rockers and spinners.

Status/Project Update

Construction is complete and the new playground is now open.
