Battery Lane Urban Park – Playground Renovation

Project Description

This project provides a renovated playground for Battery Lane Urban Park.  The project will identify opportunities to maximize play for multiple age groups and to provide a safe and accessible facility.

Background

In 2009, the Montgomery County Planning Board approved the Battery Lane Urban Park Facility Plan.  The Facility Plan included the recommendation to fully renovate the existing playground area.

Status/Project Update

The Parks Department is currently in the process of finalizing construction documents and obtaining final construction permits for the renovation of the playground area.  Construction is expected to begin this Summer 2018.  The construction schedule will be posted to the website below once it has been developed.

– Develop final construction documents
– Obtain permits

 Construction of playground area begins
