This project provides a renovated playground for Battery Lane Urban Park. The project will identify opportunities to maximize play for multiple age groups and to provide a safe and accessible facility.
In 2009, the Montgomery County Planning Board approved the Battery Lane Urban Park Facility Plan. The Facility Plan included the recommendation to fully renovate the existing playground area.
Construction of park improvements at Battery Lane Park is currently underway. The park’s reopening is expected to occur this Summer 2019
**NOTIFICATION OF PARK AND TRAIL CLOSURE** – Battery Lane Park and the Bethesda Trolley Trail (within the park) will be temporarily closed during construction. The trail area will serve as the main construction access for the contractor during construction. Detour signage will be posted at both ends of the trail closure prior to construction. Park improvements will include a new playground area, trail widening, fitness equipment, site furnishings, and shade tree plantings. Please follow the detour and use caution around work areas. View the Trail Detour Plan.
Links to review meeting notes and documents will be attached to each applicable calendar event as it is scheduled and completed.
