Pawpaw & Pollinators Festival

Celebrate the unique pawpaw tree and its fruit. Revel in the mystery and wonder of the pollinators that fuel our plentiful harvests. September is a month-long online festival for both the pawpaw and the pollinators in Montgomery Parks, Montgomery County , MD.

We have many online presentations and plant, fruit and honey sales at four nature centers.

Buzz, Buzz, Buzz! What’s sweet and sticky and delicious for tea? Honey has been part of the human diet and human culture for thousands of years. It was food for kings in ancient Egypt and Greeks and Romans used it for medicine and in cooking thousands of years ago. Each 8 ounce jar of Brookside Nature Center honey was collected in Montgomery County by members of the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association from the Brookside Nature Center hives. Buy one jar or more and eat like a king! $10 for each 8 ounce jar, all honey sales support our environmental education programs. Honey pickup at Brookside Nature Center on Tuesday, September 15. Morning pickup is from 10 am to Noon. Evening pickup is from 6pm to 7pm. Montgomery County Beekeepers Association representatives will be onsite during pickup times for any questions.
