From January 14-16, hundreds of volunteers participated in park and stream cleanups and Weed Warrior events around the county as part of the annual MLK National Day of Service. During MLK weekend, 480 volunteers took part in park and stream cleanups at 11 sites throughout the park system and removed nearly 20,000 pounds of litter, about 1/3 of which was recycled.
Volunteers in Montgomery Parks will join thousands of people across the country honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service by making MLK Day a day on and not a day off.
