Rent Affordable Indoor or Outdoor Space for Your Next Event
Surrounded by parkland and popular park amenities, Montgomery Parks' outdoor pavilions and indoor park activity buildings are affordable, convenient and at unique locations for birthday parties, reunions, family get-togethers, retirement parties, graduation parties, company meetings and more.
Rent one of 17 park activity buildings for your next event! Starting at just $25 per hour on weekdays and $45 per hour on weekends, each building features great space for celebrations and events, kitchen and restroom facilities, remote keyless entry, and can accommodate between 40 to 180 people. Buildings are available year-round and located throughout Montgomery County, including in the Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Colesville, Gaithersburg, Kensington, Norbeck, Potomac, Silver Spring and Wheaton areas.

Our covered picnic pavilions offer convenient locations, scenic settings and affordable rates for get-togethers large and small. Choose from half- or full-day rentals at local park shelters, which accommodate up to 40 people, or full-day rentals at recreational and regional park shelters, which accommodate 25-125 people. Semi-private group picnic areas, which accommodate up to 175 people, are also available for full day rental and include horseshoe pits and volleyball courts. Most facilities also have grills for barbecues.
Shelters are available for use from April 1 - October 31 and are located near park amenities.

Park Activity Buildings
Facility cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to date of event, a fee of $50 is required at the time of the change. Reservation changes must be submitted in writing at least 7 days in advance of requested date, a fee of $50.00 is required for each change.
Group Picnic Areas
If the reservation is canceled at least 30 calendar days in advance, the fee will be refunded and $50 of the damage deposit retained to cover administrative costs. If cancellation occurs less than 30 days in advance, there is no refund of fees. Date or reservation changes must be submitted in writing at least 7 days in advance of requested date, a $50.00 change fee is required for each change
Local and Recreational / Regional Picnic Shelters
Shelter(s) FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Reservation changes must be submitted in writing at least one week prior to date of use, a $50 administrative fee is required. Additionally, refundable security deposits will be issued after Park inspection and may take few weeks for processing.
Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. The Permit Office must be notified immediately at least one week in advance, IN WRITING of any cancellations or date changes. (All date changes require a $50 change fee.)
Can I cancel my Park Activity Building reservation, if there is inclement or bad weather?
In the event of inclement weather, Park Activity Buildings will follow closings issued by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). Closings will be posted on this web page and recorded on the Park Permits phone line, 301-495-2525. Customers whose reservations have been effected by such closings should contact the park Permit Office at 301-495-2525 to obtain a refund or reschedule their event. All requests to change or cancel prior to a weather emergency will be charged a $50.00 change/cancellation fee.
Can I cancel my Picnic Shelter reservation, if there is inclement or bad weather?

In the event of a closure due to such circumstances, please contact the Permit Office at 301-495-2525 to reschedule or to obtain a refund for your event. All requests to change or cancel prior to a weather emergency will be charged a $50.00 change/cancellation fee.
What happens if I have already reserved a Picnic Shelter that was Damaged in a storm?
Please contact the Park Permits Office at 301-495-2525 to determine whether or not your event can be rescheduled to an alternate location or to obtain a refund for your event.
Effective December 2010, all scheduling for Montgomery Parks athletic fields will be managed by the Office of Community Use of Public Facilities. In an effort to streamline County services, the Office of Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) is now the scheduling agency for all fields previously scheduled by Montgomery Parks, M-NCPPC in Montgomery County.
