Project Update

Montgomery Parks, M-NCPPC, is installing a Skate Spot in Woodside Urban Park. Construction begins in May. The new Skate Spot will provide youth in our community with enhanced play opportunities.  The Skate Spot will complement the existing facilities in the park and provide young people with a well-designed and safe place to skate.

The Skate Spot is intended as an interim use in the park.  A permanent skate facility will be considered as part of the overall facility plan for the entire park.  The Facility Planning process for the renovation will start on May 17, 2010 with a public meeting at the Montgomery Regional Office Auditorium, 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The community is invited to participate in the planning and design of the park at that time.
