Capital Improvements Program (CIP)

Update: Public Forum April 23, 7 p.m.

Public Forum for the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) FY2017 - 2022- Tell us what you want to see built in the county for Parks and Recreation. The capital budget funds parkland acquisitions, environmental and cultural stewardship projects, new park or facility development, and renovations and infrastructure improvements. You are invited to speak at the Public Forum and to submit written and online comments to the Planning Board.

About the Capital Improvements Program

The Parks Department CIP is prepared every two years and projects capital expenditures throughout a six-year cycle.

The capital budget funds parkland acquisitions, environmental and cultural stewardship projects, new park or facility development, and renovations and infrastructure improvements.

Current FY15-20 CIP for Montgomery Parks:

The Department of Parks' FY15-20 CIP was adopted in May 2014. See list of all Parks' capital projects and individual Project Description Forms (PDFs).

The Montgomery County Recreation Department (MCRD) is a separate agency with its own capital budget which funds recreational facilities such as community centers and pools. Information on the MCRD CIP is also available on Montgomery County Government's CIP page.
