Dog Park

Montgomery Parks opened its first dog park at Wheaton Regional Park in January 2003, where it still sits just past the Wheaton Sports Pavilion. The dog park is a half-acre space enclosed by a six-foot chain-link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. There is shaded seating available as well as a rock structure and tunnel for dogs, a water station, trash bin, and pet waste bags.

Unless otherwise stated, the facility is open for use from sunrise to sunset.

Weekly maintenance at the dog park occurs on Tuesday from 6 am to 9 am.

Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park. All dogs must be current on all vaccinations as required by state or local law. There is no fee to use Montgomery Parks’ Dog Parks and dog permits are not required.

Dog park visitors should read and follow Montgomery Parks’ Dog Park Rules and Regulations.
