Birthday Parties

How to plan your party

  1. Pick a Date and Time
    Pick at least two or more dates to celebrate. We can book up to 6 months in advance. It is always good to have at least two or more dates and times in mind when booking.
    NOTE: Parties are held only on Saturdays and only at the following times.
    • Morning birthday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
    • Afternoon birthday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  2. Pick a Theme
    We offer three different themes to meet the age and interest of your child. Party themes include:

    Birds of Prey

    Explore the world of owls, hawks and eagles. Visit our resident birds of prey and learn about their feeding habits through an owl pellet dissection!  Offered year-round. Ages 6+

    Bugs Rule!

    Explore insects and bugs by meeting some of Meadowside’s live bugs, take a hike, and make a buggy craft. Offered year-round. Ages 3+

    Snakes, Turtle & Frogs –Oh My!

    Meet some of our resident creatures, search outside for slimy and scaly friends, and make a crafty critter. Offered year-round. Ages 3+

  3. Review our Birhtday Party Guidelines
    Before you book, please review our Party Guidelines to ensure that Meadowside Nature Center is the right place to have your party. Some general guidelines include:
    • Your child must be turning at least 3 years old.
    • Birthday parties are limited to 20 children or less.
    • Pinatas are not allowed inside or outside of the Nature Center.
    • Only mylar balloons may be used.
    • Parties ofter include and outdoor component, so please dress for the weather.

    To make a birthday party reservation please call us at 301-258-4030 during our regular business hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m Tuesday thru Saturday.
    NOTE: A nonrefundable payment in full is expected at time of reservation. Credit cards are accepted.
    • Fee: $225 with a Naturalist led program.

Party schedule example

An example for your child's party might be:

  • 9:30 a.m. - Arrive and set up (may decorate)
  • 10:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m.Guests arrive
  • 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.- Naturalist led program.
  • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Have party, eat cake, open presents, explore the Nature Center, and clean up
