Registration Information
You can register for Meadowside Nature Center's summer camps online at www.ParkPASS.org, beginning January 15th, 2010, or by calling Meadowside at 301-924-4141, from Tuesday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.. You must have a ParkPASS account to register.
IMPORTANT! - Before any camp registration can be confirmed, Meadowside Nature Center must receive the following information.
Due to required adult participation, toddlers camps are exempt from submitting this information.
- Completed Day Camp Participate Profile form (pdf)
- Completed Medication Form (pdf), if participant will require medication during camp.
- Proof of immunization (a current public school report card can be used as proof of immunization).

Ponds, Puddles & Pools FULL!!!
Can’t resist getting wet on a hot summer day? Join us in water play and explorations. We will learn about and enjoy different types of water habitats and the many animals that swim, hop, or sneak along the water’s edge. Each day we will learn about something wet, wild and wonderful.

Nature and Science Camp FULL!!!
Explore nature and science through hands on experiments, field experiences, field trips, and other fun activities. Experiment with leaf chromatography, dig into soil science, and explore optical illusions in nature.

Junior Naturalist Camp
Young naturalists will be immersed in nature and outdoor adventures in this camp designed to learn about unique habitats and wildlife research and issues. Field trips will include exploring deep into cave formations, a trip to the Chesapeake Bay, as well as active adventures hiking and canoeing.

Adventures in Nature
Budding naturalists will enjoy adventures in nature as we discover the plants and animals of Rock Creek Regional Park. We will catch insects in the meadow, splash in the creek, hike through the forest, go fishing at Lake Needwood, and much more.

Little House on the Prairie Camp FULL!!!
How did Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family live? What did they eat and how did they spend their days? We’ll explore the life and times of Laura and her family through fun activities and crafts at the Agricultural History Farm Park in Derwood, Maryland.

Chesapeake Week FULL!!!
Explore the Chesapeake Bay and the watershed region through sailing, camping, canoeing and more! We will begin the week by exploring the Bay by boat as we trawl for fish, dredge for oysters and analyze water samples looking for microscopic life forms. By mid-week, we will take a more intimate look at the Bay’s waterways through canoeing, camping, crabbing and fossil hunting. We will finish the week by examining the lives of those who have made the Bay their home, both past and present, including early colonial life and life in a long house village.

Grandparent-grandchild camps
Grandparent-Grandchild Nature Camp CANCELLED
Want a memorable summer camp experience with your grandchild? Create memories while participating in fun activities and field trips such as fishing, catching insects, hiking, boating, and more. Complete your camp experience with an overnight, including a campfire and exciting night activities. *On Wednesday, June 23, camp will begin at 9:00am and continue through the morning of Thursday, June 24 for the overnight.
Montgomery Parks Camp Refund Policy
Refund Policy
- If Montgomery Parks has to cancel a Summer Camp, you will be notified and receive a full credit on your ParkPASS account, or at your request, a full refund (issued in the same form as received).
- To withdraw from a Montgomery Parks Summer Camp, please submit a written request to the facility hosting your camp or program at least four (4) weeks prior to the start of the camp. Most facilities accept email as a “written request,” but please check with the facility hosting your camp or program. You may choose to receive a 100% credit to your ParkPASS account for future programs or classes, or receive a refund (issued in the same form as received), less a 20% administrative fee.
- If your written request is received less than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the camp, no credit or refund will be issued unless your spot can be filled from the wait list. If your spot is filled, you may choose to receive a 100% credit to your ParkPASS account for future programs or classes, or receive a refund (issued in the same form as received), less a 20% administrative fee.
Please allow 3-4 weeks to receive a check refund. Credit card refunds can take 5-7 days to appear on your credit card account, depending on your credit card company.
