Wiltrud Neidner

2010 Portraits of Nature

Wiltrud NeidnerWiltrud Niedner, better known as Willy, was born and raised on a farm near the Rhine River in Germany. Before coming to the United States about 10 years ago, she worked as a head nurse in a hospital. In the US she enjoyed working as lab manager in a cancer pharmacology lab at the University of California San Diego before becoming a full time mom after the birth of her son Alexander (5).

Her husband Hannes, a physician turned software engineer in life science, has long been an amateur photographer. His hobby started her interest in capturing nature and wildlife photos herself.

Willy enjoys hiking and capturing nature and wildlife with her camera, exploring uniqueness, ingenuity and beauty. She is actively involved in preserving nature for future generations, not just in pictures but also hands on in cleaning up local creeks and trails.
