Mary Chlan
2010 Portraits of Nature
Mary Chlan is a native Marylander, who combines her lifelong appreciation of nature and the arts through her photographic work. As a serious student of nature photography, Mary has pursued coursework with such artists as Tony Sweet, Josh Taylor, and Marsha Liebl. She specializes in finding and presenting beauty inthe local, natural setting, combining a unique painterly quality with a straightforward documentary approach to share her experience with the viewer.
Mary's documentary work is featured in web and print media promoting conservation, recreational trails, and volunteerism. Her work has been published in The Audubon Naturalist Society News: Arts & Literature, M-NCPPC publications, and featured in rack cards and web space reserved for winning entrants of the National Public Lands Day organization’s photography contests.
