Park Naturalist Assistant I ($8.02/hr. - $12.43/hr)

Conducts interpretive programs in natural and cultural history.  Assist with the development and maintenance of exhibits.  Performs general nature center operations such as opening and closing the building, answering phones, greeting and assisting visitors, and taking program reservations. Performs various other duties such as animal care, trail work and gardening and other special projects.

Qualifications: 18 years of age minimum, BA/BS in Education or Science preferred, experience working with children in an educational setting, knowledge of basic biology, environmental education, ecology or Maryland natural history, willingness to work with live animals, CPR/First Aid certification preferred, valid driver's license.
NOTE:
This position is seasonal (part-time) and does not include benefits.  Salaries are based on experience.  A complete background investigation will be completed.

Summer Camp Director ($14.81/hr - 22.95/hr) 
Plans, organizes, directs, and conducts week long natural and cultural history summer camps. Develops and implements thematic educational camp curriculum. Supervises paid camp counselor staff and volunteers.

Qualifications: 18 years of age minimum, BA/BS in Education or Science earned or in progress preferred, experience working with children in an educational setting, knowledge of basic biology, environmental education, ecology or Maryland natural history and a willingness to work with live animals. CPR/First Aid certification required, valid driver’s license.

Camp Counselor ($8.02/hr - $12.43/hr) 

Implements and presents developed camp curriculum. Facilitates daily activities such as crafts, interpretive activities, games, storytelling, and set-up and clean-up.  Assists with the supervision of volunteer camp counselors.

Qualifications: 18 years of age minimum, BA/BS in Education or Science earned or in progress, experience working with children in an educational setting,  knowledge of basic biology, environmental education, ecology, or Maryland natural history, willingness to work with live animals, CPR/First Aid certification required, valid driver’s license.
