Maryland Master Naturalist ProgramMaryland Master Naturalist Logo

Do you care about Maryland's natural resources? Learn more - and help others to care! Montgomery Parks is hosting Maryland Master Naturalist (MMN) training at Brookside Nature Center.

Trainees complete a 60-hour hands-on course with expert instructors and fellow learners – studying naturalhistory, environmental interpretation, and conservation stewardship. Training will take place at the nature center on alternating Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-4pm. Final certification comes with the completion of 40 hours of volunteer service at one of Montgomery Parks four nature centers. To be admitted to the training course, you must be at least 18 years old; submit an application; and be interviewed.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be contacted for an interview. You will be notified about your admissions status, after you have submitted the proper paperwork and completed an interview. Admitted candidates will register for the program through University of Maryland Extension. There is a fee of $250 due 2 weeks prior to the start of the course to cover the cost of materials.
