Registration is required, and all children must be accompanied by an adult unless otherwise noted.
Please note: The Visitor Center hours until the end of March will be 11 am - 5 pm on weekends only. Then beginning April 1 they will be 11 am until 6 pm,

During inclement weather, Nature Facilities follow Montgomery County Public School closures, delayed openings and early releases. If school is closed due to inclement weather, all children's programs are cancelled. Cancellation of adult programs is determined on a case-by-case basis. When in doubt call us. Please call us to check on adult program status at 301-528-3492

TBD: Salamanders Went Out on a Rainy Night! (265449)
Once a year, on warm, rainy nights, elusive spotted salamanders migrate to breeding pools to mate and lay eggs. Sign up now to join us on that unknown March date and we’ll call you the day of the hike. Meet: Rachel Carson Conservation Park, 22201 Zion Road, Brookeville MD. Please register all attendees. Please wear shoes or boots that can get muddy, dress for the weather, and bring a flashlight. Children should be comfortable walking in the woods at night. The hike is about 1 mile roundtrip. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All Ages; Free; 7:30-9pm
