Dog Parks in Montgomery County

M-NCPPC opened its first Dog Park at Wheaton Regional Park, near the Wheaton Ice Arena off Arcola Avenue in January 2003. Later a second Dog Park was opened on Picnic Lane at Black Hill Regional Park in the Germantown/Clarksburg area. A third area was opened June 2003 at Ridge Road Recreational Park in Germantown along with the remaining park. Each area is approximately a half acre in size and is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence. All three sites are popular meeting spots and exercise areas for local dog owners and their canine friends.

Olney Manor Dog Park Celebrated with a Grand Opening Event!
The Montgomery County Department of Parks, M-NCPPC, and the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration celebrated the grand opening of the Olney Manor Dog Park on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
As part of the Intercounty Connector (ICC) community stewardship program, Orfanos Contractors, Inc. of Baltimore constructed a dog park at Olney Manor Recreational Park. This 1-acre dog park, completed in December 2009, includes separate areas for both large and small dogs. It is completely fenced and provides opportunities for off-leash exercise and play for our canine companions. This new dog park now joins the four existing dog parks in the Montgomery park system—at Black Hill Regional Park, Cabin John Regional Park, Ridge Road Recreational Park and Wheaton Regional Park.
The Olney Manor Dog Park is located at 16601 Georgia Avenue in Olney. It is near ballfield No. 4 in Olney Manor Recreational Park.
