Dog Parks in Montgomery County

No fees or permits are required to use Montgomery Parks Dog Parks.

New Dog Park in Silver Spring?

In order to meet immediate needs in the short term, M-NCPPC Montgomery Parks is recommending a pilot urban dog park for the downtown Silver Spring area while we conduct a longer term site selection study. Black Hill Regional Park Dog Park

Black Hill Regional Park
Located on Picnic Lane in Black Hill Regional Park, this half-acre dog park is fully enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. Dogs must display current licenses and rabies vaccination tags and be older than four months. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.

The facility also includes a bluestone dust surface and dog owners have added a few amenities such as old basketballs and soccer balls for the dogs to play with. There is also a kiosk and several trees and picnic tables and benches. Ample parking is available adjacent to the dog park.

Cabin John Dog Park

Cabin John Regional Park
Located near the miniature train in Cabin John Regional Park, this half-acre dog park is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset except on Tuesdays from 9AM-11AM for weekly park maintenance. Dog-park users are encouraged to use the Westlake Drive parking lot. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.

The facility also includes picnic tables, mutt mitt dispensers and water fountains, as well as a larger mulched area with dog play equipment.

Olney Manor Dog Park

Olney Manor Recreational Park
Located near ballfield No. 4 in Olney Manor Recreational Park, this 1-acre dog park features a mulch base with separate play areas for both large and small dogs. The dog park is completely fenced, providing opportunities for off-leash exercise and play. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.

Ridge Road Dog Park

Ridge Road Recreational Park
Located in Ridge Road Recreational Park, this half-acre dog park features a grass surface and is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.

Wheaton Dog Park

11710 Orebaugh Ave., Wheaton, MD directions
Wheaton Regional Park
Located near the old outdoor ice rink in Wheaton Regional Park, this half-acre dog park is enclosed with a 6-foot chain link fence, allowing dogs to run and exercise off-leash. The facility is open for use sunrise to sunset. Please remember that all dogs should be on a leash before entering and exiting the park.

The facility also includes a bluestone dust surface, adjacent to a wooded area with several trees located within the fenced area, water source, picnic shelter with tables. A few dozen parking spaces are located immediately adjacent to the park.
