The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek

Surrounded by 26 acres of wooded park land, The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek is the natural setting for a social gathering or business meeting. Seneca Lodge is a rustically handsome log cabin featuring a towering stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings and a panoramic view. The large, exterior wooden decks offer your guests breathtaking views of the lawn and rolling hills.

Planning a wedding? Ceremonies are typically held on the expansive lawn with cocktail hour in the Lodge/deck area or in the tent (optional fee), followed by dinner and dancing in the Lodge.

The 30' x 60' Seneca Tent is installed and available for rent April through October. It features a flagstone tent pad and a beautiful patio area. The tent can seat 120 for dinner and dancing and up to 150 theater style or for a standing cocktail-style event. The tent (addtional fee) is most often rented with the 3 hour option. Rent the tent for 3 hours (in combination with your 8 hour Lodge rental), and utilize the beautiful event space as an area for your cocktail hour and/or covered wedding ceremony. Your guests can enjoy your event indoors and outdoors!

Upcoming Open Houses

Seneca Lodge is managed by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) and is located in Camp Seneca public park. The Lodge is utilized as an Event Center and is one of 4 Montgomery Parks Event Centers. The inside of the Lodge is only available for viewing during Open Houses so patrons are encouraged to visit us at that time. RSVP's are not required for Open Houses - just show up and Park Staff will show you around! You're welcome to tour the grounds of the Lodge any time during the week when no events are scheduled, but be sure to visit during Open Houses so that you can get the full effect of the Lodge, both indoors and out.

  • Can't make an Open House? For weekday (M-F) tours between 8am and 4pm please email us. Appointments may be accomodated based upon venue schedule (private tours are scheduled around our booked events).

The Seneca Lodge Tent

The 30 X 60 Seneca Lodge tent is installed and available for rent April through October in combination with the Lodge. Now you can have your event activities indoors and outdoors! (The tent will be onsite during this period and will not be removed.)

Reservations Manager- Please note: Effective October 1, Montgomery Parks has reorganized our Park Event Centers and Melissa Bonds is now the new Reservations Manager of Seneca Lodge.  For the past 2 years, Melissa has been the Reservations Manager for Woodlawn Manor and the Agricultural History Farm Park Event Centers.  She got married at Seneca Lodge in 2012 so she is very knowledgeable in how to best utilize the venue!  We hope this change will allow all clients to receive more efficient customer service and assistance with planning their events at all our Event Centers.  You may contact Melissa directly at
