The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek

Surrounded by 26 acres of wooded park land, The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek is the natural setting for all types of social gatherings as well as business meetings. Seneca Lodge is a handsome log cabin featuring a towering stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings and a panoramic view. The large, exterior wooden decks offer your guests beautiful views of an open field and wooded backdrop.

Planning a wedding? The Lodge is the perfect rustic setting for weddings! Ceremonies are typically held on the lawn followed by a tented cocktail hour, then a reception and dancing inside the Lodge.

The 30' x 60' Seneca Tent is installed and available for rent April through October. It features a flagstone tent pad and a beautiful patio area. The tent (addtional fee) is most often rented for 3 hours and utlized as a covered area for wedding ceremonies or cocktail hours. Your guests can enjoy your event indoors and outdoors!

Scheduling a Visit

Seneca Lodge is managed by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) and is located in Camp Seneca public park. The Lodge is utilized as an Event Center and is one of 4 Montgomery Parks Event Centers. The Lodge is available for viewing during Open Houses so patrons are encouraged to visit us during open house hours. RSVP's are not required for Open Houses, but strongly encouraged, esepcially for those who already have a reservation, so that we can better asisst you! You may RSVP to the open house by e-mail. Dates are booking quickly, so you may want to e-mail the reservation office to check for available event dates as well.

Currently we have open houses scheduled for:

  • Wednesday August 3rd 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Please e-mail the reservation office to schedule a weekday appointment. Private appointments may be accomodated weekdays only. Please keep in mind that office Hours vary each week, based on private event schedule and park staff are available onsite by scheduled appointment only.

The Seneca Lodge Tent

The 30 X 60 Seneca Lodge tent is available for rent April through October in combination with the Lodge. Ceremonies are often held on the lawn, follwed by a tented cocktail hour and an indoor reception! The tent is a permenant strcutre April through October. It will be onsite during this period and will not be removed. Please remember that Saturday dates, April through October, require the 8-rental of both the Tent and Lodge.

CAPACITY

Maximum Capacity of the Seneca Lodge park event center is 120 guests.

Seneca Lodge does not permit events with more than 120 guests.

During winter months, when all event activities including ceremonies take place indoors (inside the lodge), a capacity of 80 is reccomended to ensure adequate event space for you and your guests.

CATERING

Reservation holders may select any licensed and insured caterer of their choice.

All alcohol must be served by the drink, by a professional bartended (provided by the caterer).

Seneca Lodge is a great meeting place for anyone who wants to spend a day awawy from the typical office setting. The Lodge offers a large, but cozy atomopshere with outdoor options for lunch, team building activities or even covered outdoor meeting space!
