Easily accessible from downtown Washington, Bethesda and Northern Virginia, Rockwood Manor offers unique opportunities for both business and social events. Built in the 1920s, the Manor was the former country estate of Carolyn Gangwer Caughey (pronounced "coy"). Nestled in 30 acres of woods and steps away from the C&O Canal, Rockwood Manor offers its guests a secluded and natural venue to meet and socialize
Rockwood Manor's overnight lodgings make it an ideal location for destination weddings, multi-day business retreats or training sessions, family reunions, language immersion programs and other events. The Manor House is comprised of multiple rooms with varying capacities. Maximum capacity for any one combined/adjoining space within the Manor House is 130 seated banquet-style; 110 seated with dancing and 170 standing, cocktail-style. Outdoor tenting options for up to 200 guests are available. Outdoor ceremonies can be held on the flagstone terrace patio or the gazebo garden. Overnight accommodations include 10 hotel-style guest rooms and a family cottage with a total capacity of 35, and three climate-controlled cabins with bunk beds (total cabin capacity 80). Weddings and Social Events
Rockwood Manor is a naturally beautiful spot for both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. Ceremonies may be held outdoors in front of the Manor on the bowling lawn, featuring a manicured garden and picturesque gazebo; or inside the Manor in Brooke Hall with its soaring ceiling, wooden beams and panoramic view. Follow the ceremony with cocktails on the brick veranda or flagstone terrace patio out back, or diine and dance with your guests in the elegant Hoover and Caughey Rooms. Maximum capacity indoors for any one combined/adjoining space within the Manor House is 130 seated banquet-style; 110 seated with dancing and 170 standing, cocktail-style. Outdoor tenting options for up to 200 guests are available for an additional fee. Rockwood is also the perfect place to host holiday parties and to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvahs and graduations.
