The beautifully renovated Wheaton Indoor Tennis facility features six indoor tennis courts with central air and heating, new lighting, and changing rooms with lockers and showers for patrons' use. Professional on-site racquet restringing and re-gripping is available.

Wheaton Indoor Tennis will be closed:

Bring the Kids to TENNIS PLAY DAY June 8!
Parents, bring your 4-8 year old children to Wheaton Indoor Tennis for some crazy tennis fun on Saturday, June 8, 1-3p.m. Tennis Play Days give young players a chance to experience the fun of tennis and the thrill of competition in a low-key, non-threatening atmosphere. Using the USTA's "Quick Start" lines, rules and equipment (all sized appropriately for younger kids just starting out), your kids will gain confidence, make friends, learn or improve their tennis skills, get active and have fun!
We'll put the kids together on teams, and provide racquets for all who need them. Snacks and giveaways, too! BONUS! The winning teams will advance to the USTA Mid-Atlantic's Citi Open Play Day Finale in DC on July 27, where they'll receive a t-shirt, Citi Open professional tournament tickets, lunch vouchers and a gift.

Weather Cancellations & Makeup Lessons for Outdoor Tennis
When rain is forecasted for the day of your outdoor tennis lesson in Montgomery Parks, your instructor will call or email you that day to let you know if class will be held, or if not, the day and time of your makeup lesson.

- Stroke of the Day
Learn and solidify tennis stroke fundamentals and strategies in a lively and challenging format. Instructors will demostrate proper technique and fundamental work on core strokes to help produce better shots! Different classes will cover different strokes and strategies, so sign up now to improve your game! Stroke of the Day classes are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6am at Wheaton Indoor Tennis. Kids Cardio is a group tennis training activity featuring action-based tennis drills and games for children ages 6 through 12 of all ability levels. It emphasizes movement in a fun, high-energy workout for kids. Includes warm-up, cardio workout, and cool-down phases. Using age-appropriate equipment, the environment develops tennis and athletic skills and improves health and fitness. This ground-breaking new program from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) gives kids age 10 and under the opportunity to learn real tennis... and have real fun doing it! Using the QuickStart Tennis play format, the classes use racquets, balls and courts that are sized right for kids so that they learn, rally, play, compete and enjoy the game right from the start. The courts are smaller (but still to scale); the balls are lighter, slower-moving and easier to hit; and racquets are smaller and lighter. It's not remedial and not just for beginners--it's real tennis, tailored to a child's size (just like other youth sports like soccer, basketball and baseball have done for years). Spot Time
Spot time may be booked at Wheaton Indoor Tennis and/or Pauline Betz AddieTennis up to 8 days in advance. We hope this makes scheduling spot time even more convenient for you. You may reserve up to two hours of spot time per day, either as two bookings of one hour each, or one booking totaling two hours. All spot time reservations begin on the hour.
How to Reserve Spot Time
- Online
To reserve spot time online, you'll need an active ParkPASS account--it's free, and easy to register. To sign up for a new ParkPASS account, visit www.ParkPASS.org (If this link is broken, go to ParkPASS.org, click on the tab labeled “My Account” and select "Create New Account.") Please allow up to 48 hours to receive your ParkPASS confirmation, account number and PIN number.
To reserve spot time at Wheaton Indoor Tennis, please click here. If the link is broken, please go to www.ParkPASS.org, and click on the tab labeled “Rental Info & Booking" at the top of the page. Then click on any of the three options in the "Book Facility" section. Select the desired facility (in this case, "Wheaton Indoor Tennis") and follow the prompts. A list of the available spot times for the next eight days will appear. Each "day" begins at midnight (12:00 a.m.)--so if you're a night owl, you can hop online at midnight and reserve a court for later that same day, or up to 7 days later. If you cancel your spot time...
- ...at least 24 hours in advance of your reservation time, the full amount paid for that spot time will be credited to your ParkPASS account. If you'd prefer a refund to your credit card, or a check (if you paid with a check), a 20% administrative fee will be deducted from the total amount of the refund.
- ...less than 24 hours in advance of your reservation time, no credit will be given for the amount paid
Seasonal Court Time
This years lottery season is fast approaching. The 2013-14 season runs from September 5, 2013 through April 17, 2014. This year the lottery will begin on April 8 at 10:00am. The deadline for submission of the lottery application is Sunday April 7 by 7:00 p.m. Applications will be available online and at the front desk beginning April 1, 2013. Private Lessons
Private lessons with accredited instructors are available for both indoor and outdoor (in season) courts. View or download a list of USPTA- or USPTR-certified, approved instructors here, and call us at 301-905-3030 if you have any questions. Please note: Only contracted Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) instructors may teach private and/or group lessons and charge a fee on Montgomery Parks tennis courts. Tennis Parties
Rent the courts at Wheaton Indoor Tennis for your private party! You may reserve a minimum of 3 courts for 2 hours ($25/hour per court) on Saturdays any time between 8pm and midnight. Call us at 301-905-3030 for more information and availability.
