Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center features six indoor tennis courts, a lounge area, and two locker rooms with showers for patrons' use. Professional on-site racquet restringing and regripping is also available. Restringing services provided by Albert Lee, stringer at Wimbledon, the French, U.S. and Australian Open tournaments. When there is rain in the forecast, you will receive a call or email from your instructor the day of class informing you if the class will be held and/or the time/date of your makeup lesson.

Swing into Spring Indoor Tennis Lessons at PBA!
Registration for Spring I indoor classes is open, and classes begin on April 2, 2013. Registration for Spring II indoor classes begins Sunday, May 5, 2013 for Montgomery Count residents and Monday, May 6, 2013 for non-residents. Classes start on May 14, 2013. Be sure to visit ParkPass.org or call 301-905-3030 once registration opens! Classes include Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Tennis; Parent & Child and Parent & Teen Tennis; Cardio Tennis (Adult and Kids versions); Matchplay Tennis; and Round Robin Doubles.

Tennis & Ice Skating Camp (ages 8-13) Offered June 17-21, July 1-5 (4-day camp); July 29-August 2 (full, waitlist available) and August 12-16. Your kids will get professional instruction in two great sports--tennis in the morning, and ice skating in the afternoon!

If you'd like to put your hat in the ring for court time at Pauline Betz Addie for the upcoming 32-week season, read on! The 2013-14 season runs from September 5, 2013 through April 17, 2014. Submit your application by 7pm on Sunday, February 24, either in person or by mail. The lottery process will begin on February 25 at 10am. Applications are available online and at the front desk now. The application packet includes a handy chart with court availability for the season, to help you pick the best available time and date for your schedule. Spot Time
Spot time may be booked at Pauline Betz AddieTennis and/or Wheaton IndoorTennis up to 8 days in advance. We hope this makes scheduling spot time more convenient for you. You may reserve up to two hours of spot time per day, either as two bookings of one hour each, or one booking totaling two hours. All spot time reservations begin on the hour.
Check out available court times at the center at www.ParkPASS.org. Click on the tab labeled “Rental Info & Booking" at the top of the page, then click on any of the three options in the "Book Facility" section. Select the desired facility (in this case, "Pauline Betz Addie Tennis / Cabin John") and follow the prompts. A list of the available spot times for the next eight days will appear.
How to Reserve Spot Time

To reserve spot time online, you'll need an active ParkPASS account--it's free, and easy to register.
To sign up for a new ParkPASS account, visit www.ParkPASS.org (<-- If this link is broken, go to ParkPASS.org, click on the tab labeled “My Account” and select "Create New Account.")
Please allow up to 48 hours to receive your ParkPASS confirmation, account number and PIN number.
To reserve spot time, go to www.ParkPASS.org, and click on the tab labeled “Rental Info & Booking" at the top of the page. Then click on any of the three options in the "Book Facility" section. Select the desired facility (in this case, "Pauline Betz Addie Indoor Tennis") and follow the prompts. A list of the available spot times for the next eight days will appear. Each "day" begins at midnight (12:00 a.m.)--so if you're a night owl, you can hop online at midnight and reserve a court for later that same day, or up to 7 days later. If you cancel your spot time...
...at least 24 hours in advance of your reservation time, the full amount paid for that spot time will be credited to your ParkPASS account. If you'd prefer a refund to your credit card, or a check (if you paid with a check), a 20% administrative fee will be deducted from the total amount of the refund.
...less than 24 hours in advance of your reservation time, no credit will be given for the amount paid for that spot time.

Private Lessons
Private lessons with accredited instructors are available for both indoor and outdoor (in season) courts. View or download a list of USPTA- or USPTR-certified, approved instructors here, and call us at 301-765-8650 if you have any questions. Please note: Only contracted Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) instructors may teach private and/or group lessons and charge a fee on Montgomery Parks tennis courts. Any member of the public is welcome to work with other direct family members on Montgomery Parks tennis courts.

Rent the "Smash" Ball Machine
Want to work on your returns but can't find a partner? Rent the "Smash" ball machine! This helpful silent partner can be set to feed balls to you at different speeds and feed rates--you can even adjust the controls to vary heights and spin! Rent the "Smash" for just $10 per hour! Just call the facility to reserve your court time (if you don't have a seasonal court time contract), and rent the "Smash" for an hour or two.

Tennis Parties
Rent the courts at Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center for your private party! Book a private rental for a birthday, company party or a friendly get-together for your tennis-playing friends on selected Saturday nights. Reserve a minimum of 3 courts for 2 hours ($25/hour per court) on Saturdays, any time between 8pm and midnight. Call us at 301-765-8652 for more information and availability.
