- Callithea Farm Park

Directions: From I-495 take Exit 39 for River Road/MD 190 West. Follow River Road for about 6 miles to the farm entrance.
Callithea Farm Park is a 97 acre property located adjacent to the M-NCPPC equestrian trails at Blockhouse Point Conservation Park and the C&O Canal. Horse boarding is available. For information about horse boarding, contact the farm manager at 301-977-7682. - Meadowbrook

Directions: From I-495 take Exit 31 for MD-97/Georgia Ave., making a left onto Georgia Ave to go South. Then turn right onto MD-390 South/16th Street. After 1 mile, make a right onto East West Highway/MD 410. Follow East West Highway for 1 ½ miles, and turn left onto Meadowbrook Lane.
Meadowbrook Riding Stables are leased by an outside operator. The stable offers horse boarding and group riding lessons for beginners through equitation for A-rated show riders. Contact the stable for information. - Potomac
Horse Center

Directions: From I-495 take Exit 35 for I-270 North. Continue on I-270 to Exit 6B for MD 28 West towards Darnestown. After 2.8 miles on MD 28, turn left onto Muddy Branch Rd. Follow Muddy Branch Road for 2 miles and turn right onto Quince Orchard Road. The Potomac Horse Center is a public facility leased from M-NCPPC on a beautiful, wooded lot. Founded in the late 1950's by F.G. "Stretch" Harting, PHC quickly became a premier international equestrian center. With more than 80 school horses and 10 instructors, the Potomac Horse Center is an extensive teaching program featuring riding classes for "Mini Mites" (5-8 year old children) through adults of all levels. In addition, a strong classical Dressage program, Combined Training, and a Hunter/Jumper program are available with riders competing under different trainers on both the "A" and local Hunter/Jumper circuits. PHC offers a variety of activities with approximately twenty shows a year, a busy calendar of clinics featuring internationally recognized clinicians in many disciplines, and other family fun events. The center also schedules horse shows and special clinics in many disciplines, children’s summer camps, therapeutic riding, pony parties, and special events. Boarding is available, and facilities include indoor and outdoor rings and a tack shop.

Directions: From I-270, take Exit 15B to MD 118 S/Germantown Road. Turn right onto MD 117 West/Clopper Road for 2 miles. Turn right onto MD 121/Clarksburg Road, and immediately turn left onto MD 117/Barnesville Road. Continue on MD 117 and turn right onto Moore Road.
The scenic 100-acre parkland is operated by Great and Small, a non-profit organization certified by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association that provides a therapeutic riding program for abused and neglected children. Located within Montgomery Park’s Wheaton Regional Park, the riding stables provide group and private riding lessons beginning at age 8, children’s summer camps, boarding, and guided trail rides through the park’s natural surface bridle paths. Horses are available to rent for trail rides. For more information, contact the stables during afternoons and evenings on weekdays or between 9 AM and 4 PM on weekends. This 872 acre park consists of 16 miles of equestrian and hiker trails available for public use. Future plans for further development of the site for equestrian activities include outdoor riding arenas, temporary use stalls, and a cross country schooling course.
