Skating Tips
- To protect skaters from cold temperatures and injury from skate blades and rough ice in the event of falling, hats and gloves or mittens should be worn.
- Skates should be 1/2 to 1 size smaller than the skater's street-shoe size. Skaters should wear one pair of THIN socks or tights for maximum support. A skate should be unlaced before being put on, and then tightly relaced. If a skater's heel lifts up and down or there is inadequate ankle support, a smaller ice skate should be worn. If toes feel cramped in the skate boot, a larger size should be worn.

Family Sessions
A special session restricted to children 12 and under. accompanied by their parents or guardians is offered on Sundays. Please see schedules.
Group Discounts
Reduced rates are available Monday through Friday for organized groups of ten or more attending public sessions between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.. Arrangements must be made at least 48 hours in advance in order to obtain the reduced rate of $6.25 per person (includes admission and skate rental). Call the rink for details. Group discount rates are not in effect on national or Montgomery County Public School holidays and may not be available during all sessions.
NOTES:
- Discount tickets do not guarantee admission to the rink, and do not include skate rental.
- Skating admission tickets books for sale (10 tickets/book): $52.50 per book (all ages)
- Admission and skate rental tickets may be purchased 30 minutes before session begins.
- Schedules may be subject to changes without notice.
- Rinks reach capacity on weekends and holidays. Please plan to arrive early.
- Children 8 and under must be accompanied by someone 16 or older.
- People with disabilities who need assistance, please call the facility.
Party Rooms and Studio Rink
Party rooms are available for birthday, office, and holiday parties at $50 per hour. We also rent out our Studio Rink for $185 per hour.

Group Lessons
Learn-to-skate group lessons for all ages and abilities are offered all year long. From hockey to basic skating to jumps and spins - we have a lesson program to fit your needs! Group Lesson Information*. Group Lesson Schedules are currently online at www.ParkPASS.org.

Registration information for Fall 1 2010 Skating Classes
Classes begin September 10th and run until October 23rd . Registration for Fall 1 classes is from August 20th to September 6th. Beginning September 7th , registrations must be processed in person at the rink. An additional $10 ice service fee will be charged beginning September 7th.
Classes run for 6 weeks. Transfer requests will incur a $5 processing fee per request.

Group Lesson Fees
- 30 minute group lessons
$96 per series (six 30-minute lessons) - 45 minute group lessons
$144 (six 45-minute lessons) - Fee includes skate rental for the lesson, and a practice card good for 6 or 9 free admissions and skate rentals for practice time on our public sessions.
NOTES:
- $5 fee for switching classes
- $10 ice service fee for late registration
- $35 fee for all returned checks
- Fees are not prorated
- No refunds and no makeup classes are offered
Registration Procedures
Students may register for classes by mail, in person or online at www.ParkPASS.org. Fees must be paid at time of registration. Make checks payable to M-NCPPC. Master Card and Visa welcome.
The easiest way to register? ParkPASS, of course! Visit www.ParkPASS.org to sign up for classes any time (day or night!). Please create your free ParkPASS account a couple of days before registrations begin, as it can take up to 48 hours to receive your ParkPASS confirmation, customer number and PIN number. If you already have a ParkPASS account but can't remember your account number and/or PIN number, please call the ParkPASS Help Desk at 301-495-2580 (M - F, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) or email MCP-ParkPASSHelp@mncppc-mc.org and they'll help you out.
On-Site Registration Hours: 9:00am - 9:00pm daily
Private Lessons
$32 and up per half hour, plus applicable admission fee and if needed, $3.25 skate rental. Arrangements for private lessons must be made with the individual instructor and are subject to ice time and instructor availability.

Guest Coaches - We welcome visiting coaches on a case-by-case basis. Please download and return the Visiting Coach Agreement and the Code of Conduct forms and return both to the Skating Director in advance of your request for approval.
General Information
Cabin John Ice Rink is one of the two ice rinks owned and managed by Montgomery Parks and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC). We offer a diverse selection of programs for all ages, with Indoor NHL, Olympic and Studio size rinks open year-round.
Services
Cabin John Ice Rink has a warming room, cafe, pro shop, dance studio, internet cafe, three party rooms and coin-operated lockers, along with skate rentals and skate sharpening service.
PRO SHOP 
- The Cabin John Pro Shop offers an extensive line of skating equipment and accessories for the hockey player, figure skater and recreational skater (skating boots, blades, figure sets and apparel, blade mounting, custom fitting, skate sharpening). For information please call, 301-365-2246.
- Pro Shop Hours for Summer: Monday through Friday 3pm - 6:30pm; Saturdays and Sundays 9:30am - 5:30pm.

DANCE STUDIO
- The Dance Studio is available to rent for off ice training such as; dance routines, strength training or general fitness classes and activities. The Studio is a 32ft x 16ft room with hardwood floors, mirrors, ballet bars, dip bar, a variety of hand and bar weights up to 15lbs, floor matts, steppers, medicine and core/balance balls and stretch bands. The room may be rented during any of our regualr operating hours. For a rental appliation and more information please download the Dance Studio Rental Form.
CAFE'
- The Cabin John Cafe is open year-round during most public sessions. Our menu features pizza, pretzels, hot dogs, sandwiches, healthy snacks, sodas, smoothies, fresh fruit, breakfast sandwiches, desserts and much more for your dining pleasure.
- Cafe hours for Summer: Monday & Wednesday 11:30am - 8:30pm; Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 11:30am - 9:30pm; Saturday & Sunday 8:30am -6pm
INTERNET CAFE'
- Free Wireless Internet access is available throughout the facility. Inquire at the front desk for the access code and password. Relax in our new Internet Cafe while the kids are skating.
