New Deal-Era Cabin in Kensington to be Revitalized with Support from The Cupid Foundation Inc.

A donation of $150,000 from the Cupid Foundation will assist with the rehabilitation of the historic Kensington Cabin. The log cabin – initiated under the New Deal – will both retain its Kensington Cabin name and be dedicated as the Mayor Jayne H. Plank Kensington Cabin.

MLK National Day of Service Draws Hundreds of Volunteers to Montgomery Parks

From January 14-16, hundreds of volunteers participated in park and stream cleanups and Weed Warrior events around the county as part of the annual MLK National Day of Service. During MLK weekend, 480 volunteers took part in park and stream cleanups at 11 sites throughout the park system and removed nearly 20,000 pounds of litter, about 1/3 of which was recycled.
