Cloth & Chocolate

Cloth & Chocolate (CC) is a diverse group of women, dedicated to exploring the artistic aspects of their quilt making. Their goals are to contribute to contemporary fiber arts, to display and sell their works and to teach others. The individual members are:

Marina Baudoin - Professional Quilter
Marina uses ethnic fabrics and vibrant colors as her inspiration. She has a long-arm quilting business. Her work has been exhibited in the Creative Crafts Council, Greenbelt Courthouse, Sandy Spring Museum, Quilters Heritage Celebration, American Quilters Society, various Mancuso shows and the Machine Quilters Exhibits.

Twila Blume – Textile Artist and Technical Support Analyst
Color, texture, and connections to personal experience inspire her textile compositions. Her work has been included in the Hoffman Challenge traveling show.

Ruth Cohen – Fiber Artist and retired System Analyst
Ruth interprets her travels in many of her quilts. She creates unique wearable art as well. Her work has been exhibited at Creative Crafts Council Show, International Quilt Festival, American Quilter’s Society, George Washington University Hospital, Strathmore Center for the Arts, and Jewish Community Center for Greater Washington.

Melinda Lowy – Textile Artist and Scientific Educator
Melinda uses a wide variety of materials and surface design techniques in developing her art. Her work has been exhibited in shows at Surface Design Association Conference, Studio Art Quilts Association, US Botanic Garden, C. William Gilchrist Museum, Quilters Heritage Celebration, Creative Crafts Council, Pacific International Quilt Exhibition and American Quilters Society. Her work has been published in American Quilters Society Wall Calendar, C. Walter’s More Snippet Sensations, and Maryland Quilts video.

Judy Lundberg –Professional Quilter and Teacher and Graphic Artist
Judy explores innovative uses of color and shape. Her work has been exhibited in shows at Creative Crafts Council, Surface Design Association Conference, Studio Art Quilts Association, C. William Gilchrist Museum, Tactile Architecture, International Quilt Festival, American Quilters Society, and Quilters Heritage Celebration. She has won major awards for her recent work. Her work has been published in L. Smith’s Machine Quiltmaking, F. Labanaris’ Quilts With a View, and C. Walter’s More Snippet Sensations.

Karen Schulz
- Fiber Artist, Psychotherapist
Karen believes in the transformative power of creativity. Her work has been exhibited at The Schweinfurth Memorial Art Museum, Creative Crafts Council, Surface Design Association Conference, Studio Art Quilts Association, International Quilt Festival, Quilters Heritage Celebration. Her work has been published in Portfolio 16 and Quilting Arts Calendar.

Margreta Silverstone –Textile Artist and Executive Consultant
Margreta explores motion and color in semi realistic designs. Her work has been exhibited in American Quilter's Society, Sacred Threads, International Quilt Festival, Pacific International Quilt Festival and others. Her work has been published in K. Bresenhan’s I Remember Mama, K. Bresenhan’s Creative Quilting and Maryland Quilts video.

Linda Syverson-Guild – Fiber Artist and Registered Architect
Linda’s architectural education is reflected in the color, linear and geometric expression found in her work. Her work has been exhibited and award winners at the Tactile Architecture, National Quilting Association, Century of Progress Competition, Allentown Art Museum, American Textile History Museum, Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza and Pacific International Quilt Exhibition. Her work has been published in the American Quilter's Society Engagement Calendar.
