Brookside Gardens Guided Tours

Brookside Gardens offers horticulturally-oriented, guided adult group tours throughout the season. Tours are led by well-trained volunteer guides and last approximately one hour; we encourage questions from participants. Please call at least two weeks before your scheduled visit and choose from these options:

The Gardens of Brookside
Varies by season and focuses on what is currently in bloom or of special interest.

Native Woody Plants
Available from March through October.

McCrillis Gardens and Gallery
Adult tours also areavailable at McCrillis Gardens, a five-acre shade garden in Bethesda, Maryland, managed by Brookside Gardens.

FEE: $5/person (5-person or $25 minimum).

Private Horticultural Programs

For your next group gathering, you may consider a business meeting in the Visitors Center Adult Classroom followed by a horticultural slide presentation furnished by our staff (weekdays only).

Choose from the following topics (others can be discussed):

  • Fragrance of Flowers
  • Hardy Ferns
  • Autumn Beauty
  • On the Shady Side
  • Conifers for Contrast
  • Beauty of Bark
  • The Garden in Winter
  • Plant Curiosities: Fascinating Insectivores, Parasites, Aphrodisiacs & More (for the gardener who has seen it all)

A tour of the gardens may be substituted for the slide presentation. Please register at least two months in advance, as dates are limited.
FEE: $200 (four hours) for up to 45 participants
