The Parks Show
The Parks Show is a Gold Winner of the MarCom Awards in both the 2008 and 2007 competitions and the 2006 and 2004 recipient of the Maryland Recreation and Parks Association's Showcase Award for "Writing, Research or Audio Visual." Now in its 20th year, the show is produced jointly by the Department of Parks and the Montgomery County Council. Cathy Grubman is the producer and writer while Kelli Holsendolph, media relations manager for the Parks Department, is the host of the program.
The Parks Show is a regularly scheduled 15-minute presentation addressing the Montgomery County Park System and its multiple and varied features. It airs on County Cable Montgomery, Channel 6, or as a live streaming video and/or audio via the Montgomery County Government Web site.

Closing Down, Opening Up
Find out how we put the boats to bed for the season at Lake Needwood and Little Seneca Lake, tuck away the Cabin John and Wheaton trains for winter and turn off the wacky water at the South Germantown’s Splash Park. Park Police counts on park neighbors and the community to help do their part to keep the parks safe and welcoming to all. Learn about Park Police’s new ParkWatch initiative and how you can be a better park neighbor by not encroaching on park property, dumping unwanted items on parkland, etc.
Good-Natured Fun
Drop in on the good-natured fun at our four nature centers: Black Hill, Brookside, Locust Grove and Meadowside. We’ll also learn more about what the Department of Parks is doing to make sure “No Child is Left Inside.”
Rockwood Rocks!
Grab the girls and get outdoors! We’ll visit Rockwood Manor in Potomac as they gear up for the annual Women’s Outdoor Weekend and find out about other girls getaway programs in the parks.

It’s National Parks and Recreation Month. Director of Parks Mary Bradford co-hosts as we check out some of the department’s “oddest” occupations: climbing trees, driving the Zamboni, shocking fish and Woody the Tree?!
Wow! Wheaton Regional Park
Make a new memory at Wheaton Regional Park: tennis at the newly renovated Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center, ice skating at the Wheaton Ice Arena, fishing at Pine Lake, programs at Brookside Nature Center and Brookside Gardens.
