Malcolm Burke, President of the Westmoreland Citizens Association presented a Powerpoint on the Westmoreland Hills Ancillary Building entitled “The Little House at Westmoreland Local Park – A Cornerstone of our Community.” After the presentation, a question, answer, issues and concerns segment of the meeting started.

  • What about “Temporary Building”?
  • Losing momentum
  • Emphasis on Up-County priorities verses Down-County
  • Parking issues/traffic issues with current park
  • Park usage verses Little House usage
  • Look at other alternatives

  • What is the timeframe for a decision?
  • What about port-a-Johns?
  • New playground from private funds
  • Does not want Ritz Carlton type building – similar building in size and scope.
  • Does not like change
  • Not enough room at other facilities
  • Should be enough money if there is a “Disneyland” in Germantown
  • What we build we must maintain
  • Community put $18,000 into building

  • Focus has been new facilities in growth areas
